An extreme chase in the Vilnius district was filmed: he ran away from the police, dragging a person on a tire

The evening of January 6 will be remembered for a long time by two minors – a ride with a tire tied to a quad bike resulted in an injury for one of them, the Vilnius District Chief Police Commissariat (VPK) reports.

Around 4 p.m. 16 min. Officers of the traffic police department of Vilnius district, PagiriĊ³ village, noticed a four-wheeler driving along Terminala Street, to which a sledge and a car tire were tied with a rope, on which a person with a helmet was sitting.

The officers, turning on the blue and red beacons, stopped the four-wheeler, but the driver did not stop.

After reaching the roundabout, the driver of the four-wheeler again drove into the oncoming traffic lane and turned onto Durpiai Street. At that moment, the person being towed started to slide and hit a road sign – the towing rope broke.

The crew of police officers continued to follow the speeding ATV for some time, demanding to stop every time, but the ATV continued to drive, trying to turn off its lights so as not to be seen. The four-wheeler ran away after turning onto Palydovo street, the police crew had to turn around and return due to the bad and impassable road.

An abandoned sled and a tire were observed at the roundabout, and a person with a helmet walking on the sidewalk further away. It soon became clear that he was the same underage youth being pulled on a sled. Since the minor complained of leg pain, the EMS brigade took him to the hospital.

The police officers promptly identified the owner of the four-wheeler and the person who was driving it, a young man of the same age as the victim. He could not explain anything about the incident. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
