An important update has arrived for Firefox – it can make the browser up to 75 times faster –

The open source web browser has switched to a new speed.

Recently, the Firefox browser received a cardinal update, thanks to which some tasks can become up to 75 times faster. The update focuses on the WebAssembly runtime environment and its optimization. The technology is primarily used in complex video, audio and 3D rendering tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Google Earth and games based on the Unity engine.

However, Firefox used to encounter problems when compiling WebAssembly codes, which significantly slowed down the performance of the browser. However, Mozilla released an update the other day that fixes this, so the browser also switched to a new speed.

It is important to note that the speed increase is not valid for all of Firefox, but is mainly experienced during certain tasks. For example, in the free version of Photoshop, some processes now run in just 14 seconds instead of the previous 4 minutes, while JetStream 2, which tests the performance of search engines, also takes 0.2 seconds instead of the previous 2.8 seconds.

It is not known exactly in which version the patch detailed above is found, but most likely the latest stable release already contains the changes.
