A fire broke out in the engine room of the Tópart InterCity (IC 853) locomotive that left Nagykanizsa for the Déli railway station at 5:14 p.m. between Alsóbélatelp and Bélatelp. The locomotive driver put the fire under control, no one was injured.
According to their information, due to the incident, trains between Fonyód and Balatonfenyves were temporarily stopped. Significant delays of up to several hours were to be expected on the South Balaton line and Helikon InterRégios.
Later, in an update, it was written on the MÁVINFORM website that
At 8:06 p.m., train traffic resumed between Fonyód and Balatonfenyves.
Scheduled traffic is restored on the South-Balaton line late in the evening.
As a result of the accident, passengers could expect the following changes:
- A From Nagykanizsa at 17:14 the Tópart InterCity (IC 853) departing for Déli railway station does not run. Passengers a From Fonyód at 19:24 they could travel further with the Balaton InterCity (IC 861) going to the Southern Railway Station.
