An unidentified person (60) died after being hit by a train in Tangail’s Mirzapur.
The accident took place on Tuesday morning at Bawar Kumarjani Purwapara of Upazila Sadar on Bangabandhu Bridge Rail Link Road.
Locals said that morning walkers found the body of an unknown person at that place. They went ahead and confirmed that they had been hit by a train. On receiving the information, the responsible employees of Mirzapur train station went to the spot. However, they could not say for sure that the person died after being hit by a train.
Kamrul Hasan, station master of Mirzapur train station, said that people were sent to the spot after getting information about the death of the train. It is not possible to confirm which train has been cut.
However, he said that the Ekta Express train from Panchagarh to Dhaka crossed Mirzapur station at 6:41 am.
He said that information has been given to the Jaidebpur Railway Police.
