An unusual trend is taking over cinemas. Deadpool saw it coming!

Big cinema premieres attract crowds to cinemas, but this is not enough to satisfy the hunger to sell as many tickets as possible, so they are accompanied by various campaigns, such as special editions of popcorn buckets. This move got a little out of hand.

In Poland, this is not a well-known thing. Sometimes, on the occasion of really big premieres or marathons, various cinema chains will feature themed drink cups or other accompanying items. However, this is the sphere of children’s sets in popular fast food restaurant chains. But in America, the desert worm started a trend.

All you had to do was pour popcorn into the huge worm

Dune 2 is a film of epic scale, the culmination of the latest film adaptation of one of the most important books in SF literature. Despite the large desert bugs, the whole work has a rather serious mood. However, the design of these worms caused a sensation from the very beginning. The finishing touch to all this was undoubtedly the design of popcorn cups… With a rather unique look.

His appearance was so unusual that even… divided the actors involved in production. Josh Brolin clearly despised anyone who would use them, while David Bautista, on the contrary, would happily take popcorn out of them. But who would have expected that this premiere would be like throwing down the gauntlet at the knight’s feet? Next in line was Ryan Reynolds, who announced that this year would go down in history as “2024 is the year of the Popcorn Bucket Wars”.

Ryan Reynolds has become very familiar with the side of a person who is not the typical image of a Hollywood star. Over the years of efforts to adapt it to the screen Deadpoola, he must have become, in part, the creature he was chasing. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that after the Dune bucket saw the light of day, his reaction appeared. And yes, the above bucket, according to the creators’ intention, it is not scandalous by accident, but with all his heart, he fulfills his mission.

This trend cannot be stopped anymore

And it began. Horror fans Terrfier started a petition signing campaign on change.org to create an exclusive clown head edition.

“We believe an exclusive popcorn bucket would be a fantastic addition to our movie experience during Terrifier 3. This is about more than popcorn, it’s about enhancing the fan experience and celebrating our love of cinema in all its forms.”

It’s impossible not to notice DNA Deadpoola in this half-seriously written statement. And although it was quite clearly a joke, the next item was not at all. American cinema chain, Regal Movies, took the bull by the horns and added another bug to the collection, this time from the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

It must be admitted that compared to the rest creations, this one is even… Cute. Ot bardzo artdeco the creature wrapped itself around the popcorn. Literally, subdued and tasteful. Which couldn’t be said during the promotion of the prequel to the series Alien. Someone probably in Cinemark Theaters, he took it to heart very literally pouring oil into the head and poured melted butter over popcorn that looked a lot like brains.

Speaking of the series started by the director Ridleya Scott, it’s worth reminding about the next film. This one has been waiting for its sequel for over twenty years. Gladiator II will hit cinemas in less than a month, and although one wonders if anyone ever wanted a continuation of this touching, yet brutal work… Certainly many people will not let it go miniatures of the Roman coliseum, which can fit a solid amount of popcorn in its stands! The creators of this bucket went a step further and after eating everything, you can point your phone camera inside it and see a gladiator fight.

And you probably won’t need to add salt to this popcorn tears of sadness they sprinkle them while saying goodbye Venom trilogy.

We still have a little bit of this year left, I wonder what the imagination of the cinema chain owners will bring. Maybe this trend will reach Poland as well? Who knows!
