Ana Moura at Meo Kalorama: a new song that ‘Slides’, a shiver down your spine and a scorching duet

Only those who don’t recognize her open-mindedness, determination and uncomplicated way of approaching music could think that having Ana Moura at a pop/rock music festival would be risky. The fado singer from “Casa Guilhermina” who took to the stage at Meo Kalorama this afternoon took the risk, wrapped it up nicely, put it in her pocket and entered the stage with a smile dancing on her lips. Isn’t that her element? Of course it is. Does fado not fit? It does. Does quizomba sound strange? No. In a one-hour show, Moura delivered the strongest songs from the album she released two years ago, but she went back to the party for ‘Desfado’ and looked ahead to the premiere of a “bold” song, which she plans to release next month. Along the way, she sang Calema and even invited her partner Pedro Mafama to the stage for a warm duet.
