(Health Korea News / Lee Chang-yong) An exhibition filled with various print works will be held at the United Gallery located on the street of taste in Gangnam Station until the 22nd with free admission. It is expected to be a valuable time to escape the stress of everyday life and forget the heat through cultural activities in a cool gallery.

This exhibition, hosted by the Korean Print Research Association, provides a place to see the properties and forms of prints at a glance under the theme of ‘Yunseul’. This exhibition, which displays 32 works by 25 artists, compares ‘Yunseul’, meaning ‘a reflection of the world beautifully shining on the surface of the water’, to ‘indirectness’, the main characteristic of prints, to show the uniqueness and experimental nature of prints. Based on the properties of prints, participating artists present their own unique formative language in a diverse and rich manner.

Printmaking, which is done by printing using plates of various materials with pictures and texts engraved on them, has the characteristics of indirectness, plurality, and uniqueness. These characteristics make printmaking commercial and artistic. Like analog NFTs, it also has the advantage of lowering the barrier to entry so that more people can own artwork.

The president of the Korean Print Research Association, Haim Sung, said, “As digital technology advances, the scope of reproduction technology and printmaking is expanding day by day. Against this backdrop, this exhibition showcases the works of artists affiliated with the Korean Print Research Association who are at the forefront of expanding the concept of modern Korean printmaking, researching techniques, and producing discourse,” adding, “I hope that the audience will be able to appreciate the diversity and experimental nature of printmaking art and briefly enjoy artistic enjoyment.”

Kang Ye-na, the representative of United Gallery, said, “This exhibition is filled with diverse works by many talented artists,” and expressed her expectations by saying, “I hope to share the various techniques and charm of printmaking through this exhibition.”

The United Gallery, opened by the United Cultural Foundation in 2009, is a cultural and artistic space in the city center, and is characterized by its convenient use by both exhibitors and visitors. A curator is on-site, so anyone can visit and hear explanations of the works. Exhibition hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and admission is free.
