And Bentley is delaying plans to offer only electric models from 2030 onwards

Another company, Bentley, has announced that it is postponing its plans to offer a range of electric-only cars from 2030 onwards. Instead, it will turn to plug-in hybrid models, since customers do not seem willing to give up internal combustion engines.

In addition, the British company sees synthetic fuels as a solution to reduce the emissions of its models with internal combustion engines, with its new CEO, Frank Walliser, stating:

The goal is to reduce the CO2 footprint and I’m absolutely convinced that with synthetic fuels you can close that gap because you can reduce the CO2 entering the cycle and not add extra CO2 to the environment.

Bentley’s first electric model is expected to be unveiled at the end of 2026 and will hit the market in 2027. The first electric Bentley will be based on the PPE platform and offer a range of between 560 and 725 kilometers per charge.
