It’s the GR Corolla’s turn to get Toyota’s new 8-speed automatic transmission, with the MY2025 version of the Japanese hothatch getting both more torque and an improved cooling system.
In addition to the 8-speed automatic transmission, the car continues to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission, with the automatic transmission equipped with a special radiator.
The torque of the three-cylinder 1,600 hp engine has increased from 370 Nm to 400 Nm, with the horsepower remaining at 300 horses. The car now has Torsen limited-slip differentials front and rear as standard, with the suspension also receiving a number of improvements.
The front bumper has also been redesigned to improve engine and brake cooling, with the Premium Plus version featuring a carbon roof and ventilated hood. Inside the MY2025 Corolla gets new trim, with the car wearing 18″ wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.
