Sandra Flemrová, who became famous as a little girl thanks to one of the most iconic Czech advertisements, today works as a nurse at a dentist. Her story is connected with the Christmas advertisement on Kofol, which has become an integral part of the Czech Christmas. The commercial, which was created more than 20 years ago, takes place in a snowy forest, where a father and his daughter are looking for a Christmas tree. The father explains to the daughter that if she lasts until evening without food, she will see a golden pig. However, the girl surprises her father by saying, “No, no, I don’t have to, I can already see him,” and points to a wild boar that appears nearby. Both then take their legs on their shoulders. This scene became legendary and the ad’s message became popular.
The ad won the hearts of viewers with its simplicity, kindness and wit. She looked natural, non-violent and perfectly captured the pre-Christmas atmosphere. The snow-covered forest, which evoked peace and well-being, was a pleasant contrast to the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle for the audience. Although the snow was artificial and the filming took place in autumn in the forest near Mladá Boleslav, the resulting impression was perfect. Even the wild boar that looked menacing was actually a domesticated pig that was more scared than dangerous.
Sandra, who was only three and a half years old at the time, does not remember much about the filming. He only remembers small moments, like bowling with the crew or the piggy alone. Her mother, originally from Ukraine, later told her that she was chosen from more than 300 children. Although the commercial was a huge success, Sandra did not pursue acting. Sometimes she tried some casting, but in the end she decided on a different path. She graduated in dental technology and today works as a nurse at a dentist.
In 2022, however, Sandra returned to shooting commercials. Kofola approached her with an offer to act in a new campaign promoting ecological glass bottles from the Cirkulka project. These bottles were meant to reflect the drive for sustainability and environmental friendliness. Sandra accepted the offer because the idea of ecological packaging appealed to her. She herself also noticed the difference between drinks stored in plastic and in glass – according to her, the drink in the glass remains saturated with bubbles for longer, even if the bottle is opened and closed several times.
The new commercial was shot in Slovakia in picturesque nature, which Sandra appreciated very much. Although the filming was challenging, it was a pleasant and unforgettable experience for Sandra. Although she does not plan to pursue acting, her role as the little girl from the first commercial remains unforgettable. The advertisement became a symbol of Czech Christmas and is still one of the most popular. Perhaps in the future, we will see another collaboration between Sandra and Kofola, which could bring another unforgettable advertising spot.
