Guitarist Burial, Andreas Kisserhe invited all the former members of the band, including the founders Max and Iggora Knightto perform at their final concert. In a recent interview for M*****t PassionKisser, who joined the band in 1987, reveals that they are planning their final show in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2026. He hopes the event will bring together former band members.
“We want to invite all former members, including the Cavalera brothers,” says Kisser. “We’re working on organizing a big celebration for the fans.” Max left the band in 1996 after management disputes, while Iggor left ten years later and the brothers launched their own project, Cavalera Conspiracy.
Kisser admits that there are differences between the two, but adds, “It doesn’t matter who is right. We have different views and perspectives on the same events, but we still want to come together for one last performance.”
Max recently stated that he has no interest in reuniting with Sepultura, saying, “The more time goes on, the less I feel I need to.” Since 1997, Sepultura has been fronted by Derrick Green, and the band announced a farewell tour late last year.
Kisser explained the reasons why the band split up in an interview with Metal Hammer: „Album Quadra is fantastic and we don’t want to wait for something out of our control to end our career. After my wife passed away from cancer, life took on a different meaning. We want to end this story in peace and move towards something new.”
The band is currently on a European tour.
