Android smartphone manufacturers are currently still preparing updates for the new system Android 15but we are already learning the first information about its next generation. Portal AndroidPolice has now revealed the system’s launch date Android 16.
Android 16 in a few months
According to internal sources at Google, the American Internet giant plans to release a new operating system and release it for its Pixel devices already June 3, 2025. That would be 2-3 months earlier than Google usually releases Android updates. For example, this year’s Android 15 was released October 15while Android 14 made his debut October 4, 2023.
The earlier release of the system could be related to the effort to have it ready for the next generation Pixels. This year, Google released a series Pixel 9 earlier than usual, but had to ship it with last year’s Android 14 because Android 15 wasn’t ready yet. With the June release of Android 16, it should have plenty of time to optimize it for the next generation of Pixels.
What will Android 16 bring?
We also already know a few more details about Android 16. Its internal codename is said to be “Baklava“. As for the features it could bring, it is expected to introduce a redesigned notification panel and quick settingswhile the brightness control aligns with the volume selection design.
