At the end of September, the stable version of Android Auto 12.9 was released and it is only after a short time from October 4, 2024 already available newer thirteen. It arrived much earlier than originally expected and without the expected beta version, the website reported 9to5google.com.
What news does it offer?
Despite the fact that it is a new numerical version Android Auto 13.0at first glance you probably won’t notice any significant changes. The official list of new features is scant, it talks about unspecified fixes for missing items and improved system stability.
However, the new version is a preparation for the arrival of a new function Car Media. As we informed you already in the summer, Google started working on the implementation of FM radio, which would especially please drivers who still listen to the broadcasts of various stations in their vehicles today.
Thus, stations would not have to be searched through the system in the car, but through the running Android Auto platform. The upcoming Car Media function should also address the possibility of media playback from a connected SD card or USB disk.
