How to Delete Saved Words from Gboard

To delete a selected word in Google’s Gboard app, tap the text field on your phone. Start typing the word you want to delete. When the word appears in the suggestions window, tap and hold it. Then drag the word onto the trash can icon that appears on the screen.

To see all the words saved in Gboard, in the top left corner of your keyboard, tap the four-square icon and select the gear icon.

On the Gboard settings page, tap Dictionary, then Personal Dictionary. Select the language you want to remove saved words from, or click All Languages. Then find the word you want and tap it.

On the next screen, tap the trash can icon in the top right corner and Gboard will delete the selected word.

In Gboard, you can’t delete all your saved words at once. You can only view their list and remove unnecessary ones one by one.

Samsung Keyboard

In Samsung Keyboard, tap the gear icon to open the Settings page. Turn off the switch next to AutoCorrect.

SwiftKey

In SwiftKey, tap the three dots in the top right corner and tap Settings. Select “Input” and turn off “Auto-Correct.”

Flexy

Fleksy allows you to disable both auto-correction and saving new words. In the top left corner of your keyboard, click the three dots and select the gear icon. Open Dictionary and turn off Auto Correct, Auto Correct Punctuation, and Auto Remember Words.

Even if your keyboard app is not on this list, the steps will be similar. Try tapping and holding a suggested word, then selecting the trash can icon. Likewise, you can delete all saved words by going to the Keyboard Settings page, selecting Dictionary or a similar option, and clearing the entire list.
