Anker Solix Solar Bank 2 AC: New balcony power plant storage presented

Storage solution

With the Anker Solix Solar Bank 2 AC, Anker is launching a new storage solution for balcony power plants. It starts at the beginning of December.

With the Anker Solix Solar Bank 2 AC, Anker has presented a new solution for upgrading balcony power plants with AC coupling. The new model in the Solarbank 2 series is now available for 1,099 euros, with delivery starting at the beginning of December.

Coupled using AC coupling, the balcony power storage unit, which is equipped with efficient lithium iron phosphate (LFP for short) batteries, is 100 percent compatible with all microinverters designed for 800 watts. The AC can be installed yourself via plug and play, saving time and money.

According to current legal regulations, the solar bank 2 AC feeds up to 800 watts into the domestic power grid, which are passed on by the respective inverter. Two additional MPPT solar controllers ensure that up to an additional 600 watts per input, for a total of 1,200 watts, can be used by solar panels. This means that up to 2,000 watts and therefore the maximum legal yield and savings are possible. If you want to store a particularly large amount of energy, add up to five additional batteries with the same capacity to the 1.6 kilowatt hours of the AC, increasing it to a maximum of 9.6 kilowatt hours. The individual batteries can be stacked on top of each other and connected via a plug connection.

With 10 year manufacturer’s warranty

Like the Plus and Pro versions, the Anker Solix Solar Bank 2 AC also communicates with the optional Anker Solix Smartmeter for the fuse box or the Anker Solix Smart Plugs for the socket. This makes it possible to ensure that consumption in the home power grid on the one hand and the storage system on the other are sufficiently charged without wasting energy.

In the future, Anker Solix will expand compatibility in collaboration with the IoT and smart building manufacturer Shelly. The Shelly Pro 3EM and Shelly 3EM will then also be usable with the new solar bank 2 AC.

Anker Solix promises at least 6,000 charging cycles and therefore at least 15 years of service life. On top of that there is a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee. Thanks to the IP65 certification, outdoor use is possible all year round, regardless of wind and weather, because the solar bank 2 AC can withstand temperatures from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius.
