Annemarie Buitelaar (CEO Marktplaats) to Budget Thuis

Annemarie Buitelaar, previously CEO of Marktplaats, will start as the new CEO of energy and telecom supplier Budget Thuis en de Nutsgroep on November 1, 2024. She will succeed Caroline Princen, who has decided to leave after 7 years.

In addition, Ralph Thoen has started as the new Director of Energy as of September 1. With these changes, the new management and the company are ready to further expand the strategy that has been implemented.

Annemarie Buitelaar has worked at eBay/Marktplaats since 2009 in various positions and became CEO of Marktplaats and the Belgian 2ehands.be and 2ememain.be in 2018. She started her career at KPN and subsidiary brand Simyo.

Ralph Thoen has been appointed Director of Energy effective September 1. Thoen has worked for energy supplier Eneco for over 7 years, where in his last role he was responsible for the commercial strategy of the private market for both Eneco and Oxxio. The appointment of Ralph Thoen is part of the new management structure. In April of this year, Budget Thuis decided that both business units – Telecom and Energy – should be represented within the management. During the same period, Maarten Boom was appointed Director of Telecom. With the appointment of Ralph Thoen as Director of Energy, the company underlines its ambition to grow further in both sectors.
