App Protection and Automatic Blocker: Samsung’s own security features

Samsung has its own security features in addition to those found in the Android system. Here we explain App protection and Automatic blocker.

App protection is a function in the settings that you can turn on so that the mobile regularly scans for malicious code in your apps. Admittedly, Google examines the apps that are uploaded to the Play Store with the Play Protect function, but it happens that malicious apps slip through, and apps can also be installed via the Galaxy Store or as apk files.

You can turn on Automatic Blocker to extend the protection even further. Then it becomes impossible to download and install apps via apk files, the phone is protected from apps being transferred via connecting a USB cable, and messaging apps are also monitored so that files or images with executable malicious code do not get through that way.

Differences with Play Protect: Google’s feature provides shell protection against apps installed via the Play Store, but does not guard against the other sources that Samsung’s features protect against.
