Apple has added warning labels to the packaging and AirTag itself to comply with Reese’s Law requirements. It requires warnings to be placed on products containing button batteries that pose a risk if swallowed by children.
US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) notedthat AirTags imported after March 19, 2024 did not initially contain the required warnings. Apple has now updated the AirTag’s battery compartment to include a warning symbol and changed the packaging to include the necessary warning labels and symbols. In addition, the Find My app has updated battery replacement instructions.
Apple released AirTag in 2021 and is rumored to be planning to release a new version in 2025. (The Verge)
