Apple declares the latest iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle models obsolete

Apple has officially added the latest models of iPod Nano e iPod Shuffle to the list of obsolete productsthus marking the closing of a historic chapter for the company. These iconic devices, which have shaped the history of digital music, will no longer be supported for repairs by Apple or its authorized centers, with few exceptions.

The latest models of iPod Nano (seventh generation) e iPod Shuffle (fourth generation) received new colors in 2015, but their sale was discontinued in 2017. Now, seven years after their sale ceased, Apple has classified them as “obsolete”. This means they will no longer be eligible for repair at Apple Stores or authorized vendors.

Furthermore, Apple has also added theiPhone 6 to the list of obsolete products. Although the model iPhone 6 Plus had already been declared obsolete last April, the standard iPhone 6 model remained on sale longer in some markets, only now officially becoming obsolete.

In addition to iPods and the iPhone 6, Apple also included the 2017 12-inch MacBook and the iPad 6 to the list of “vintage” products. This classification is reserved for devices that have exceeded five years since their last sale. Vintage products can still be repaired, but only if there are replacement parts available.
