Apple has unveiled a new generation of iPad Mini tablets. What news are brought

After a three-year wait, Apple has finally decided to bring an update to the iPad Mini series, the small tablets in the company’s portfolio. Thus, Tim Cook & co. they just announced, through a press release, a new version of iPad Mini, the differences from the previous generation being related, first of all, to the hardware included inside.

A hardware refresh in the same form factor

Thus, the new iPad Mini keeps the dimensions of its predecessor, but adds the proprietary A17 Pro processor, the same used by the iPhone 15 Pro smartphones, with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) with double the performance of the previous model, ready to run the functions Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence complexes. They will arrive with the iPadOS 18.1 update, expected at the end of this month.

The Liquid Retina screen with a diagonal of 8.3 inches remains the same as the previous generation, as well as the 12 MP cameras included on the back and front of the product, which now support Smart HDR 4. Instead, support for Wi-Fi connections has been added -Fi 6E, as well as a USB Type-C port capable of increased speeds of up to 10 Gbps. The new iPad Mini will also be able to be used with the Apple Pencil Pro stylus, introduced this spring with iPad Pro models based on the M4 process.

The Mini tablet’s minimum storage has also been increased, from 64GB in the previous model to 128GB for the new variant.

Pricing and availability for North America

For the United States, pre-orders for the new iPad Mini are available right now, with the tablet set to be available in stores starting October 23, 2024. Prices start at $499 for the Wi-Fi model with 128GB of storage and go up to $799 $ for the one with 512 GB of storage. For the iPad Mini with cellular connection, those who wish will have to pay between $649 for the model with 128 GB of storage and up to $949 for the one with 512 GB of storage.

The new iPad Mini will be available in Space Gray, Starlight, Blue and Purple colors.
