Apple had its fall event today, where it regularly introduces new iPhones and adds several other new product versions. Now it was the iPhone, the new Watch and the new AirPods.
iPhone 16 Pro a Pro Max
Apple presented the improvements that it gives to this year’s version of the iPhones, where the design of the cameras is slightly changed, a touch Capture button was added and the size was also changed. Specifically, the Pro and Pro Max versions will be larger than their predecessors.
The display of the Pro version has increased from 6.1 to 6.3 inches, the height will now be 149.6mm and the width will be 71.4mm. Pro Max will go with a display from 6.7 to 6.9 inches with a height of 163mm and a width of 77.5mm. At the same time, the titanium surface will be shiny this time and not matte like last time.
The cameras themselves will now no longer be surrounded by a frame, but will be elevated with a full square of cameras. An anti-reflective layer has been added to the cameras themselves, and the ultrawide camera has been upgraded to 48MP instead of 12MP. The main wide camera remains 48MP and a 12MP zoom camera remains. But the zoom camera now also comes on the basic Pro model.
For photo options, the mentioned capacitive Capture control button has been added on the edge of the phone, with which you can control the camera by sliding your finger and press it to focus and capture the shot.
It will be powered by the A18 Pro, a new and 20% faster chip. It is still 6-core, although now with a more powerful GPU and also with an AI unit.
There is also a USB-C port for charging, which here has USB 3 speed and therefore up to 10Gb/s.
iPhone 16 Pro will start with a price of $999 with 128GB storage, at Max for $1199 with 256GB storage.
iPhone 16 a iPhone 16 Plus
The lower versions of the iPhones will be 16 and 16 Plus. They also get an A18 processor with a 30% increase in performance compared to the old A16. As for the size of the displays, they remain 6.1 and 6.7 inches, as in the previous generation. At the same time, they will still only have slow 60Hz displays. There will also be both an Action button and a Camera slider on the sides of the phone.
But the interesting thing is that the dual rear cameras will return to a rectangle format and not a square. Both cameras are now 48MP. One is wide, the other ultrawide. There will be no optical zoom camera.
Here, Apple used a USB-C port for charging, but only with the USB 2 standard, which has a slow 480Mb/s transfer.
The price of the iPhone 16 starts at $799 and 16 plus at $899.
Apple Watch Series 10
This time, the new Watch will get a bigger and better display, will be thinner and will also add other improvements.
Specifically, the display will have a better viewing angle, control via the Digital Crown has also been added, i.e. by touching the area around the display. At the same time, the speaker has been improved, now also with the ability to directly play podcasts or music.
The thickness is 9.7mm, i.e. 10% thinner than before, and the performance is taken care of by the improved S10 chip, which adds AI to suppress background noise. There will also be support for AI features that will come later with the release of WatchOS11.
Like the Samsungs, they will have sleep apnea detection, but there will no longer be SpO2 detection, as they have a lawsuit there. A water temperature sensor is added if you go swimming.
The price will be 399 dollars.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 in a new color
Ultra version Apple did not announce a new one, but brought a new one Satin Black version, which should have a more scratch-resistant surface. They will be $799.
Airpods 4
The new AirPods 4 arrived in two versions. Both will get a modified design and the higher version will also get ANC. The sound itself will also be improved, which comes with improved bass and the option of voice isolation. They also get wireless charging, while you can use other chargers to charge them. At the same time, their charging case will be the smallest from Apple to date.
Airpods 4 will be for $129, higher AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation will be for $179.
AirPods Max in a new color were also introduced, and AirPods Pro 2 will receive listening options for people with poor hearing.
