Apple iPad mini 2024 presented with A17 chip

Apple today presented the new iPad mini with A17 Pro chip to the world. The built-in chip, including CPU and GPU, with its Neural Engine provides twice as much power as the chip in the iPad mini, which is currently still available and is from 2021.

With a 6-core CPU – two performance cores and four efficiency cores – the A17 Pro delivers a 30 percent increase in CPU performance. With its 5-core GPU, the A17 Pro also brings a 25 percent jump in graphics performance compared to the previous generation. The A17 Pro enables new experiences – including pro apps used by designers, pilots, doctors and more – allowing users to edit photos, immerse themselves in AR applications and more faster than before.

With hardware accelerated ray tracing and support for dynamic caching as well as hardware accelerated mesh shading, the iPad mini should also cut a good figure in games that are displayed on the 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display.

Cameras are also built into the new iPad mini. The 12 MP wide-angle rear camera is supported by Smart HDR 4, which is intended to bring out the details in photos even better. The iPad mini also uses the 16-core Neural Engine to recognize documents with artificial intelligence directly in the camera app. It can also remove shadows from the document with the new True Tone flash. There is also a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle front camera installed on the front.

The iPad mini 2024 According to Apple, it has a battery life that lasts all day – what that means in concrete terms remains to be seen. It’s available from just 599 euros with 128 GB – twice as much storage as the previous generation – and as a WiFi version. The WiFi + Cellular version costs from 769 euros. The new iPad mini can be pre-ordered starting today and will be available from Wednesday, October 23rd in four different colors (space gray, polar star, blue and purple) and of course it is also compatible with the Apple Pencil and Apple Pencil Pro.
