Apple Maps Arrives on the Web in Beta

Starting today, the public beta of Apple Maps on the Web is available globally, allowing users to access Maps directly from the browser. This new feature expands the accessibility and usability of Apple’s maps service.

With the Apple Maps public beta on the web, users can:

  • Get directions for getting around by car and on foot
  • Find useful places and information such as photos, opening hours, ratings and reviews of businesses
  • Perform actions like ordering food directly from place cards in Maps
  • Browse Guides to discover restaurants, shops and places to explore in cities around the world

More features will be available in the coming months, including “Look around”, which will offer an immersive view of the streets and locations.

App and website developers can now include links to Apple Maps on the web using MapKit JS. This allows users to get directions and see detailed information about places right from their browsers.

Currently, Apple Maps on the web is only available in English and is compatible with Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, and Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs. However, Apple has announced that it will expand support to other languages, browsers, and platforms over time.
