The Apple Maps is the maps and navigation application developed by Apple Inc. and was first introduced in 2012. Built into iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch devices, Apple Maps offers a range of features including navigation, walking and public transport directions, real-time traffic information and points of interest.
Nearly twelve years after its initial release on iOS, Apple Maps is now available on the web in beta form. Apple announced its expansion with a short press release, and now you can try Apple Maps on your Mac or PC by going to beta.maps.apple.com from your browser. Currently supported in Safari, Chrome and Edge on Mac and Windows.
The experience is identical to that on iOS, and you can search for addresses, get driving and walking directions, as well as business information such as phone numbers, hours of operation, and payment options.
Look Around, which is the Street View alternative to Apple Maps, and other Apple Maps features available on mobile are coming to the web version in the coming months. Apple is also working to bring the feature to more regions, additional browsers and platforms.
