Last month, the Apple TV+ series Presumed Innocent debuted. While its first season has yet to wrap, Apple has already announced a second season.
The series “Presumed Innocent” is a legal thriller about a successful prosecutor who is accused of murdering a colleague with whom he had an affair. The main role is played by Jake Gyllenhaal, known from the films “Donnie Darko” and “Labyrinth”. The author of the script is David E. Kelley (“Big Little Lies”, “Boston Public” and “Ally McBeal”) and the executive producer is JJ Abrams (“Lost”, “Star Trek” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”).
The first season of the series “Presumed Innocent” was based on the novel of the same title by Scott Turow. It is not clear, however, whether the next season will be based on another novel by the author or will tell an entirely new, original story. Apple has only revealed that the second season will tell another tense court case. It is also known that David E. Kelley, JJ Abrams and Scott Turow will once again be involved in the production of the new episodes.
The expected release date for the second season of “Presumed Innocent” has not yet been revealed. The first season is available to watch exclusively on Apple TV+. Six of the eight episodes have been released so far. The first-season finale is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 24.
