These last two weeks we have received very relevant information about Apple’s new plans for the long term. On the one hand, we know that they are working on a smart television that could be launched under the Apple brand. And, on the other hand, investments in AI will bear fruit with a completely renewed Siri in spring 2026 with an iOS 19 update. Beyond that, we must also comment on the plans that are on hold. The latest information indicates that Apple has no intention of launching a third generation of AirPods Max with new features and nor to lower the price of the current generation, because the cost-benefit of that movement may not be profitable enough.

The AirPods Max have no planned renewal in the short term

Mark Gurman has been in charge of release this news in his Sunday bulletin. A few hours ago I pointed out that from Cupertino, Apple’s headquarters, They have no intention of delving into “significant plans” to renew or modify the prices of the AirPods Max generations. Remember that these headphones are the Big Apple’s on-ear headphones and are the largest headphones in the entire AirPods range.

Gurman suggests that Apple is still thinking about launching its own TV

Also remember that the first generation of AirPods Max was released in December 2020 and four years later, in September 2024, Apple launched a second generation very decaffeinated with new colors but without hardware renewal, which was what was most expected. However, it seems that Apple is not very interested in investing time, money and technology in a third generation.

The argument is clear: sales are good enough to make profits, but low enough to not invest in new generations. Therefore, everything that is sold will be good for the Big Apple without needing to be obligated to a 3rd generation.
