Apple recently released iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, macOS 14.6, tvOS 17.6, and watchOS 10.6. Here’s what’s new.
iOS 17.6 is available with the new Catch Up feature and performance improvements You can install iOS and iPadOS 17.6 by going to Settings ⇾ General ⇾ Software UpdateToday’s update is compatible with all devices running iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.
This new update mainly focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements. iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 both include Catch Upa new feature in the TV app created specifically for sports shows. Here’s how it works:
When starting a live stream of an ongoing game, viewers can stay up to date with the action by watching a series of highlight clips from past games.
The Key Plays carousel is offered when you select an in-progress game from the TV app’s main menu. You can also access it later from the video player controls menu. Catch Up is available as part of MLS Season Pass, Apple’s subscription service for the American soccer league.
Apple is expected to gain more sports rights soon, so it’s likely that Catch Up will expand to other sports offerings in the future.
macOS 14.6, tvOS 17.6, and watchOS 10.6 they are limited to bug fixes, in addition to the new feature already mentioned also present in tvOS 17.6 for Apple TV.
macOS Sonoma 14.6 also includes dual-display support, a feature specific to the 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro. With the new software, the 14-inch M3-based MacBook Pro can now run two external displays when the lid is closed.
