Apple says it has the most ambitious plans for future iPhones

The iPhone will soon celebrate its 20th anniversary. Many users believe that the changes that have appeared in recent years are more evolutionary than revolutionary. But Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternus, disagrees.

He appointed Richard Dean as vice president of iPhone design, and in a memo he said that Dean was in charge of the iPhone’s roadmap. Ternus called the plan “the most ambitious in the product’s history.” But Ternus did not voice any details.

According to rumors, Apple is currently developing two completely new iPhones. The first, iPhone 17 Air, is an ultra-thin smartphone with the biggest redesign since the iPhone X launched in 2017. It is expected to be released in 2025.

The second is a foldable iPhone. It will be made in the form of a clamshell with a flexible screen, but the release date has not been determined. Most likely, it should not be expected before 2026.

Apple?s iPhone roadmap is reportedly, per hardware chief John Ternus, the ?most ambitious in the product?s history.? Here?s what to expect.
