Apple seeks solution for iPad Pros that no longer work after update

iPadOS 18 has caused problems for several users with an iPad Pro with an M4 chip. Affected iPads simply stopped working completely after updating to the latest version of iPadOS. Fortunately, Apple is now working on a solution, writes 9to5Mac.

It’s unclear how many M4 iPad Pro owners are affected by the issues. Several people 9to5Mac spoke to found that their iPads wouldn’t power on after installing iPadOS 18. Other iPad models don’t appear to be affected. Apple is working on a new version of iPadOS 18 that should fix the issues, but there’s no timeline for when that will be released.

Apple itself writes that a “small number” of people with an iPad Pro are experiencing problems due to the earlier update, 9to5Mac reports based on an internal memo obtained by the company. Apple employees are instructed to first attempt to reset affected iPads before issuing replacements. The problematic update has been pulled, so people with an iPad Pro with an M4 chip can no longer download and install the latest version of iPadOS. People who already have the version on their iPad Pro and are not experiencing any problems do not need to worry.

iPadOS 18 brings more possibilities to your home screen

iPadOS has brought changes to the iPad home screen, which is now more customizable. For example, you can adjust the colors of app icons and it is possible to distribute apps more freely across your home screen. In addition, there is a calculator app on your iPad for the first time and the control panel has been adjusted, among other things.
