Apple should have cut iPhone orders due to lack of interest in Apple Intelligence

One of the big innovations that Apple introduced with the new generation of iPhones was its own Apple Intelligence. Artificial intelligence is supposed to help users with a number of things they do on their phones, but apparently it hasn’t caught on so much with end customers.

At least that’s what TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says, according to which Apple Intelligence did not fundamentally affect the interest in the iPhone, which Apple originally expected. The company was thus supposed to reduce the number of orders by 10 million units for the upcoming period 4Q24–1H25. Shares reacted to the news by falling 2%.

It must be said that this will not significantly affect the total number of phones produced. In the coming three quarters, despite the reduction, Apple should have ordered a total of 164 million iPhones. Despite this, analysts agree that this decline signals the reluctance of customers to switch to new models, and Apple should thus bring bigger and more noticeable changes to iPhones.
