Apple to Open Lab in China to Test iPhones in Extreme Conditions

Apple is set to open a new lab in Shenzhen to improve the quality of its products.

The lab’s primary focus will be testing iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro under extreme conditions, simulating high and low temperatures, as well as various types of damage that can be caused by physical impact.

Shenzhen is one of the most important cities for Apple. It is home to many of the company’s suppliers and also to the Foxconn plant where iPhones are made.

The Shenzhen lab is part of Apple’s broader plans to open research and development centers in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou. Apple has invested $138 million in these facilities. (MacRumors)
