Apple will heavily upgrade Siri in iOS 19 so that it becomes a full-fledged competitor to ChatGPT and other chatbots

Apple is working on a smarter version of Siri, which the company calls LLM Siri internally.

Cupertino will add large language models to the voice assistant so that it can compete with large chatbots like ChatGPT. Siri will conduct a dialogue with users, like a living person.

In addition, using LLM will allow Siri to perform more complex tasks that only ChatGPT can currently handle in iOS 18.2. For now, Apple is testing Siri in a separate application for iPhone, Mac and iPad, but then all the developments will be built into the regular version of the digital assistant.

The update may be announced as early as 2025 during WWDC. Most likely, it will be added to iOS 19, but the release of the innovation may take place after the release of the operating system, although developers will have access to it after the presentation. (Bloomberg)
