Apple withdraws investment in OpenAI

Last month we informed you that Apple was considering investing in OpenAI.

It turns out that the company has changed its plans. As reported by the editors of The Wall Street Journal, Apple has ended negotiations and withdrawn its idea.

Previous reports suggested that the American giant intends to allocate approximately $6.5 billion to the development of OpenAI.

Other tech companies reportedly still intend to finance the development. For example, Microsoft has already allocated $13 billion so far, and intends to pay another billion as part of the latest round. Nvidia also intends to invest.

At the moment, it is not known why Apple withdrew the financing, especially considering the plans to integrate ChatGPT with Siri.

Perhaps the recent changes inside the company, which is changing its structures and wants to be a profit-oriented company, have an impact, which may raise Apple’s concerns.
