The world of emoji meets real design thanks to an artist’s idea Jose Wongwhich transformed the iconic running shoe emoji from Apple into a real product. For those who love minimal style and the world of Apple, this is an excellent opportunity to bring a reinterpreted piece of technology into your wardrobe.
The new shoes, called The Shoe 1are directly inspired by the design of the running shoe emoji present on iPhone, iPad and Mac. This emoji is in turn a tribute to the classic New Balance 574a model often worn by the Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
The physical version of the shoes maintains a link with the iconic design: the New Balance logo is replaced by two parallel lines, just like in the emoji.
Jose Wong not only copied the emoji, but added a touch of design inspired by the Apple world and its quality. The upper is made of full-grain nubuck leather combined with mesh for greater breathability. The sole is made of lightweight EVA foam, combined with a polyurethane edge for a mix of support and lightness.
The minimal concept also dominates the packaging, with a design that recalls the care and style of Apple products.
A unique detail? The internal insoles include aimpression of the internal components of an iPhonea direct homage to Apple technology.
The The Shoe 1 I am available online starting from $219,90 in sizes ranging from 38 to 47 (converted from US sizes 5-12). However, Wong clarified that units will be limited and that all sales will be final, with no option for returns or refunds. Shipments will begin as early as next week.
