UNFPA’s Yemen office published a report on the subject.
The report stated that the conflicts and climate-related crises that broke out in Yemen in October 2024 led to the displacement of 17 thousand 633 people.
In the UN report, it was stated that the rapid response mechanism led by UNFPA provided emergency life-saving assistance to 17 thousand 458 people during October.

In his briefing to the UN Security Council (UNSC) on April 15, United Nations (UN) Special Representative for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, announced that the conflicts were escalating on various fronts in Yemen and warned that “if the escalation continues, it will have serious consequences for Yemen and the region.”

In Yemen, the Iranian-backed Houthis have been in control of the capital Sanaa and some regions since September 2014. Coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia have been supporting the Yemeni government against the Houthis since March 2015.
