The Archdiocese of Braga will promote the 1st Liturgical Pastoral Meeting on January 25th.
The initiative, which will have the theme “Servants of the Servant”, runs from 9am until 7pm, with the program taking place in the Imaculada Chapel, the Vita Auditorium, the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center and the Cathedral.
According to information available on the archdiocese’s website, the inaugural conference will be given by Father Pietro Angelo Muroni, from the Archdiocese of Sassari, in Italy.
With a PhD in Sacred Liturgy from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Saint Anselm, in Rome, Father Muroni teaches Liturgy of the Hours and Theological Reading at Sacrosanctum Concilium.
Currently, the priest is dean of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Urbaniana University, where he heads the chair of Liturgy. His CV also highlights his role as consultant to the Office of Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff, the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, as well as the Secretariat of National Liturgy of the Italian Episcopal Conference.
The Liturgical Pastoral Meeting is aimed at all those involved in the Liturgy: reception teams, sacristans, caretakers, musicians (singers and instrumentalists), acolytes, readers, extraordinary ministers of communion, priests, deacons, funeral agencies and image reporters and video.
The program includes the Prayer of Lauds, workshops for the various ministries, the pilgrimage to the Cathedral, on the occasion of the Jubilee Year, and the solemn Eucharist with the institution of lay people in the ministries of acolytes, catechists and readers.
