Architecture Biennale 2025: the curator of the Italian Pavilion will be Guendalina Salimei

Will be Guendalina Salimei the curator of Italian Pavilion at the 19. International Architecture Exhibitionscheduled in Venice from 10 May to 23 November 2025. She is the first woman to obtain this position alone; before her, Veronica Caprino and Claudia Mainardi of Fosbury Architecture had had this role in 2023 but together with colleagues Giacomo Ardesio, Alessandro Bonizzoni and Nicola Campri.⁠

With the title WATER LANDS. Italy and the intelligence of the seahis project will have water as its protagonist and in particular the Mediterraneanbecause, as she herself states, «look at Italy from the sea it implies a change of perspective, it imposes the need to rethink the project of the border between land and water as an integrated system of architecture, infrastructure and landscape”. ⁠

In addition to participation in conferences, publications and intense teaching and field activity, Salimei with his T-Studio has created and is creating more than a hundred works including redevelopments, reuses and public architecture, including the expansion of the Egyptian Museum in Turin (with OMA).
