ARD report on the Bundeswehr looks at future challenges
The soldiers represent the challenges that the German army currently has to overcome: The Bundeswehr has too few personnel, too few equipment and for many years was not geared towards the type of war for which it is now preparing for the future remembered. The film by Rainald Becker and Thomas Schneider reflects the upheaval from the perspective of those who carry out the task of “national and alliance defense” in their everyday lives, at their location, in their unit.
The documentary “Changing times up close – A year with soldiers” is available from today, Tuesday (November 12th). ARD media library available. The film will be broadcast linearly on Monday, November 25th at 12:05 a.m. on the first.
