Several points beyond the hypothetical line, which served as centers and hiding places for malicious elements organizing and coordinating attacks in Afghanistan and their supporters, were targeted in retaliation from the southeast of the country
– said the ministry in Kabul, without clarifying exactly what it meant by the term “hypothetical line”. This doubt was also expressed in the form of a question, before the ministry spokesman Enayatullah Khowarazmi announced that they cannot consider the mentioned areas as the territory of Pakistan, which is why the border line deserves the name from their side. They did not say what kind of damage the clashes caused or how many victims were claimed.
The Pakistanis have not yet given an official response to the attacks. There are different reports about the incident, which says that one militiaman was killed and seven others were injured in the clashes. Officials from both countries admitted that both sides fired heavy weapons at the other’s positions.
Kabul accuses the neighboring nuclear power of killing 46 people, including women and children, as a result of the airstrikes.
The Afghan leadership has a problem with the Durand Line, which was designated in the 19th century by the colonial powers of the time. The criticism of this is that former decision-makers did not take into account landscape units or tribal areas, and often cut these borders in two. The fighting has now erupted primarily because of a paramilitary organization, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has close ties to the Taliban regime. This radical separatist organization has long been a major headache for Islamabad, as they can easily hide in mountainous areas, and they can retreat to Afghanistan using their connections.
