Arrested after a movie police chase through Madrid with 300,000 euros on board

Agents from the Central Security Police Station (CCS) of the Madrid Municipal Police arrested a driver a few days ago, after a long police chase through the streets of the Madrid district of Tetuán, who was carrying almost 300,000 euros of suspicious origin, informed Europa Press a spokesperson for the Local Body.

The intervention took place on September 30. CCS agents patrolling in Tetuán came across a vehicle that suddenly entered the traffic along Paseo de la Direction towards Capitán Blanco Arbigay Street. Then, they tried to stop him but the driver ignored him and fled at high speed.

Then, he turned left onto Alberdi Street in the opposite direction, putting the safety of the road at serious risk. Thus, it also continued on the right towards Pando Street until Pinos Baja Street, which was stopped for traffic reasons in front of number 17.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle got out of it and abandoned it on the run, carrying a backpack with him. Finally, he was caught up by the police and detained despite his strong resistance. Inside the backpack he had a large amount of cash.

The arrested man, a 37-year-old Spaniard, said that he had to deliver it to an unknown person in the towers of Paseo de la Direction and that he would charge 500 euros for that job. Of course, he gave evasive and confusing answers about the origin of the money. He has been accused of a crime of resistance and disobedience to authority and another crime against public health.
