Arrested former OC Shah Alam escaped from Uttara Purba police station, operation is underway

Shah Alam, the former OC of the capital’s Uttara Purba police station, fled from the police station after being arrested in a murder case. He escaped from the police station on Thursday afternoon. After the incident, the police have started to arrest him.

It is known that the former OC of Purba police station Shah Alam was arrested on Wednesday night from Kushtia and brought to Dhaka on the charge of killing him in the anti-discrimination student movement. After that he was at the police station of his former workplace. Suddenly at noon, he managed to evade the eyes of the police and escaped.

The police were preparing to arrest him in a case registered at the Uttara East police station. In the meantime, this police officer ran away. However, no officer of Uttara Division of Police has officially commented on the incident.

Shah Alam was transferred to Kushtia In-Service Training Center after the fall of the fallen Awami League government. A team of Uttara Purba Police Station arrested him from Kushtia Police Lines last night. He was made an accused in the case of a murder in the student movement on September 2. Sub-Inspector (SI) Liton Sharif of Uttara East Police Station, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) A. Jabbar, Constable Billal and Sohail.

An officer of the Uttara Division of DMP told Dhaka Times on condition of anonymity, ‘Everyone is under pressure regarding the escape of the former OC. Eighty-six operations are underway to find him.’

Officer-in-charge of the police station (OC) said. Mohibullah was called but he did not respond.
