Arsenal Keeping Tabs On Bayern Munich Star Forward

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Bayern Munich and Germany forward Leroy Sane.

Sane has plied his trade in the Bundesliga since leaving Manchester City in 2020. However, he has just one year remaining on his current deal.

But, according to Sky Sports Germany (via football.london) the 28-year-old would “prefer” to extend his contract with the former Bundesliga champions.

Sane has played 175 games for Bayern, scoring 48 goals and providing 50 assists.

Football.london wrote that If Arsenal can land Sane for a cut-price fee this summer, it would be a real coup for the Gunners as the German international brings a wealth of experience in both the Premier League and Champions League.

The media outfit stated that despite Sane reportedly wanting to stay put in Germany, Arsenal could have an advantage over other teams interested in the 28-year-old as Mikel Arteta worked with him during his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Arsenal completed the signing of Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori.

Commenting on the signing Arsenal’s sporting director Edu hailed Calafiori’s qualities, stating that it has been a great team effort in completing this transfer.

“We identified Riccardo as part of our strategy to sign players who fit our profile and will reinforce our squad to compete at the highest level.

“He is 22 but brings quality and experience. He will quickly grow into being an Arsenal player.”
