The most popular Romanian cultural podcast, Cronicari Digitali, launched a new episode on Thursday, with the writer and philosopher Gabriel Liiceanu as its guest.

He told the two moderators, cultural journalist Diana Popescu and writer Marius Chivu, details of his life as a writer and talked about the mirage of free thinking and the temptation of fiction books for a philosopher. Gabriel Liiceanu also spoke about the paradox of reading and printing in Romania, he told us what, in his opinion, Artificial Intelligence is, what are his great literary discoveries and what are the books he cares about the most.

“Ideas cannot stop. And Artificial Intelligence is an idea, it arose from an idea. We don’t discuss why he calls it ‘intelligence’. It’s not intelligence. Only man can have intelligence. It is a tool made by programming. The idea that the robot that composes you books after you give it an assignment is intelligence is false. Then, and the fork, when it appeared, was intelligence. It’s a top-of-the-line tool, born from ideas, but it’s nothing more than that. Ideas still work, and only ideas will bring the world out of its deadlocks, if they succeed in entering the world in the right way”he said Gabriel Liiceanuin the podcast.

Starting in 2024, the Cronicari Digitali podcast can also be watched on YouTube. Fascinating places host the filming of the podcast, and the new media product is co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration and supported by the Romanian Order of Architects from the Architectural Stamp.

There are few who can speak to us on a deeper level, wisely forcing us to remember the gift we received when we were born HUMAN. Gabriel Liiceanu is among them. Although we didn’t set out, the Cronicari Digitali podcast is becoming a golden collection of the most impressive people with whom we are contemporaries”, declare Silvia Teodorescudirector of the Cronicari Digitali platform.
