According to information obtained from BTİDER, in cooperation with Google, the Association has launched a new program that will support young people to gain skills in the field of artificial intelligence.
A total of 500 thousand dollars of financial support will be provided to BTIDER for two years by Google.org and the Raspberry Pi Foundation to carry out the program developed with the support of Google DeepMind in Turkey.
Thanks to “Experience AI: Artificial Intelligence Training Program for Teachers”, the necessary resources will be created for educators to help young people develop their artificial intelligence skills and inspire them.

BTİDER Chairman of the Board of Directors Ömer Faruk Sorgun said that artificial intelligence education is very important for Türkiye.
Emphasizing that educating young people in the field of artificial intelligence is of great importance for the future of the country, Sorgun said, “We will contribute to Turkey’s digital future with this training. In this period when digitalization is gaining momentum, our young people’s knowledge of artificial intelligence and gaining competence in this field will increase our country’s competitiveness on a global scale.” ” he said.
Stating that, as BTİDER, they will provide educators with the skills they need in this field, thanks to the cooperation with Google, Sorgun said, “We will ensure that they take part in the digital world safely. Our aim is to contribute to raising more conscious young individuals in society by using artificial intelligence correctly and ethically.”
“WE WILL SUPPORT MORE THAN 300 THOUSAND YOUTH”
Google Public Relations and Policies President Tolga Sobacı also stated that they are very proud and honored to be companions in Turkey’s digital transformation journey.
Sobacı said, “In this journey, our top priority is to prepare our young people for the future by using technology safely. For this reason, we attach great importance to studies in the field of artificial intelligence and adopt a responsible and ethical approach in this field.”
Stating that with “Experience AI: Artificial Intelligence Training Program for Teachers”, teachers will both educate young people about artificial intelligence and provide the basic training and resources needed to inspire young people, Sobacı made the following evaluation:
“Through BTİDER, we aim to provide basic training on artificial intelligence to more than 300 thousand young people in the next two years. We aim to improve their skills in this field and to ensure that they adopt the principles of safe artificial intelligence use.”
WHAT IS THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS?
The program, which aims to increase teachers’ artificial intelligence literacy and ensure that young people use artificial intelligence technologies safely and effectively, is of great importance in terms of investing in teachers and young people in Turkey and equipping them with the skills required by the digital age. First stage applications will end on December 15. Those who qualify to participate in the training will be announced on the same site on December 17. After the online training to be held in January 2025, the competence of teachers will be tested in this way.
Successful teachers will be able to provide artificial intelligence training in face-to-face trainings to be held in Ankara, Antalya, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir and Trabzon.
