He didn’t even like the statements after the match. “I was shocked when he said ‘we didn’t convert a chance’, but that was his unconverted chance. Or saying ‘I’m proud of my team’, as if he was the leader and the other players were just sheep.
I have to say that I’m a little shocked by him, because I definitely had much higher expectations from him,” the 46-year-old retired goalkeeper shook his head.
He called captain and coach Weiss Sr.’s son one of the weakest links in the team that showed up in Glasgow on Wednesday night.
“I guess he mentioned that this will be his last season and he wants to enjoy it. He has the age and determination to show something more, but it won’t come with this kind of performance on the pitch.
Weiss said that ‘I will fight and we will improve’, but first of all he has to start improving with himself, because he was one of the weakest players on the field,” Čontofalský added about the 34-year-old Weiss junior.
