As one of the first newsrooms in the Czech Republic, we had the opportunity to test the new, expected flagship from Honor, the Magic 7 Pro model. We got our hands on it directly in China, so we could see ahead of time what we can look forward to in our market in the foreseeable future. Yes, the Magic 7 Pro is heading to our region as well, and it will definitely have a lot to offer.
Honor Magic 7 Pro: Design in the style of elegant evolution
In terms of design, the new Magic 7 Pro is based on previous models, i.e. the fifth and sixth generations, which relied on a massive, distinctive photo module on the back. It is really large even in the latest iteration, but it is no longer so prominent and the phone plays an overall more elegant than extravagant note. The construction relies on a flat, aluminum frame and is really precise.
The phone fits perfectly in the hand, although it is slightly larger than the previous generation and this is due to the use of a slightly less rounded display. It is included on the sides only very decently and is actually almost flat, but the frames around its perimeter are still extremely thin. The big news is the highest resistance according to IP68/IP69 protection.
In the hand, the Magic 7 Pro feels similar to its predecessor and is therefore an honest, premium phone with a construction combining metal and glass. The relatively pronounced rounding of the back adds to the pleasant grip, so the flat frame does not cut into the palm and overall the ergonomics are excellent, despite the larger dimensions. There is absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of design, processing and first impressions.
Great display with flash reader
The decoration of the entire phone is a high-end display with a diagonal of 6.8 inches, which is built on an OLED panel and boasts both a high resolution (2800 × 1280 pixels) and LTPO technology. Thanks to it, the phone can adapt the refresh rate to the displayed content in the range of 1-120 Hz, and high resolution means a fine, sharp image.
The colors are relatively saturated and expressive, as befits and belongs to a true OLED display, and the top brightness is also worth mentioning. This can go up to 5,000 nits in certain situations, but even the local maximum of 1,600 nits means that readability is excellent under all conditions. The ultrasonic reader in the display is exemplary fast, accurate and almost 100% reliable.
Uncompromising performance and new AI elements
The Magic 7 Pro is powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, so the performance is completely flawless and even the most demanding users in the form of avid gamers will be satisfied. Honor also focused on AI elements, and among the new ones it is worth mentioning, for example, the possibility to have a photo generated in a different style based on a selfie image.
The question, of course, is which AI elements will also be available in our market, and we will know the answer to that only when the official presentation for our market. The rest of the hardware equipment is at the highest possible level – the battery has a capacity of 5850 mAh, wired charging is 100 W, wireless is a great 80 W, and the top version offers a memory combination of 16 GB RAM + 1 TB ROM.
We have to stop for a moment at the aforementioned battery capacity. Although here in China, the Magic 7 Pro is sold with a respectable capacity of 5850 mAh, a “combed” variant will probably reach Europe, as the product manager at Honor’s headquarters in Shenzhen confirmed to us personally. Due to European regulations and the emphasis on the lowest possible price, the Magic 7 Pro will come with a battery with a capacity of around 5200 mAh and will also have a slightly different chemical composition.
The best photographer on the market?
The Magic train series is always among the best photomobiles on the market, and the new Magic 7 Pro will be no different. It offers a really interesting lineup with a resolution of 50 + 200 + 50 Mpx, while the 200 Mpx telephoto lens with a periscopic design and 3x optical zoom is worth sticking out for. Laser focusing, PDAF system and OIS on the main and telephoto lenses complete the set.
Macro photography is handled by the ultra-wide-angle lens, and as you can see from the attached images, the resulting images are truly impressive. The high level of detail and low noise production will please even in less than ideal lighting conditions. The Magic 7 Pro also performs excellently in the area of zoom, and it is certain that we have one of the best photomobiles of the year before us. You can look forward to a really detailed analysis of the camera as soon as the phone reaches our editorial office for a standard review.

Price and availability
The official premiere of the Honor Magic 7 Pro took place at the end of October, and now we just have to wait for the international one. When this will happen is for now in the stars, but the previous Magic 6 Pro arrived on world markets about a month and a half after the premiere in China. This would mean an arrival before the end of the year, but no information has been leaked in this direction so far, so we will have to wait, as well as the price. However, we expect a similar price tag to the predecessor, namely around 31,000 crowns including VAT. As for the colors, we estimate that only two will look at us – black and white.
