- Gemini can answer general questions even from the lock screen
- He can’t read messages or make calls this way
- At some point it will ask for verification
If you are still using Google Assistant instead of the newly promoted artificial intelligence Gemini, you’ve probably come to an unpleasant realization a long time ago – it doesn’t work when the mobile screen is locked. Which is quite impractical. On the other hand, if you have a Gemini, you don’t have to deal with this trifle at all – now it can answer your general questions at any time, even if your mobile is locked.
And likewise, even from the lock screen, it can perform various settings on your device at your command, start/stop music, play with the timer, and so on. Just activate this function in the field “Gemini on the lock screen”.
Which of course is great, practical and significantly easier. But there is also the issue of security. In such a case, there is a risk that anyone can talk to your phone – even the person who steals it from you. Which you certainly don’t want. Fortunately, Gemini only responds through the lock screen for a moment – then asks for authentication. If you don’t do it, the conversation will stop and you won’t be able to continue it.
ChatGPT 4o vs Gemini 1.5 Pro – A Huge Gap!!
The fact that Gemini can hold a conversation in general has its drawbacks. For example, the fact that it is from her with a locked mobile phone you can’t wait to read the messagesas well as this way you cannot give a voice command to call to a certain phone number (which, on the other hand, is handled by Google Assistant). From a safety point of view, it’s great, but from a practical point of view, it’s unimaginable.
Authentication is required the moment you touch the screen. It’s the same if you tap on a text field. To keep track of what new answers Gemini has given you, you’ll see them highlighted right on her page.
And, of course, you can deactivate this function if it annoys you and you find it unnecessary.
