The number of users who can access the tool in Germany is currently limited. However, a comprehensive roll-out in Germany and Austria will follow in the coming weeks, according to Amazon.
Amazon explains what customers can specifically use Rufus for on the shopping platform:
- Obtain information on important aspects of product categories (for example, “types of coffee machines”).
- Discover products based on activities, events, or specific needs (for example, “What do I need to climb?”).
- Get help comparing options (for example, “What’s the difference between lip gloss and lip oil?”).
- Ask for specific recommendations (for example, “What are good gifts for teachers?”).
- Ask questions about products on the product page (for example, “Can this jacket be machine washed?”). For this purpose, Amazon uses information on the product page, customer reviews and questions from the community.
To try out Rufus, if the tool is already available to you, you can tap the icon in the bottom right corner of the app and start a chat directly. Amazon emphasizes that Rufus can be closed again at any time and that customers can alternatively continue to use the regular search results.
