While we just learned a few days ago of the postponement ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows (now expected for March 20, 2025), Insider-Gaming reveals new information about the remake ofAssassin’s Creed IV : Black Flagthe other hot project in the saga Assassin’s Creed. Visibly, despite development progressing wellthe game would have been postponed to 2026 following the delay regarding Shadows.
Black Flag Remake will set sail in 2026
In a new report, Insider-Gaming has just confirmed that they have gained access to new information about the remake ofAssassin’s Creed IV : Black Flag and that they were even able to see gameplay, under the conditions of not broadcasting images. In the footage that journalists were able to see, it was possible to see Edward Kenway at the helm of his ship. According to Insider-Gaming, the development is on track et progressing relatively well.
Alas, the game which was obviously planned for November 2025 would have been postponed to early 2026 following the postponement ofAssassin’s Creed Shadows which would have disrupted Ubisoft’s schedule quite a bit. Internally, several titles would have been delayed following the shift in Shadows and the Black Flag remake would be among the affected games.
As a reminder, the rumor concerning the development of this remake goes back at the beginning of 2024. For the moment, Ubisoft has not never officially revealed his game. We can expect an official announcement this year, if the release is set for early 2026. Perhaps during the Summer Game Fest in June 2025.
Unlike previous years, Ubisoft has not announced many titles for 2025. Apart from Assassin’s Creed Shadowsno other headlines are planned at this time. In 2026, in addition to the remake ofAssassin’s Creed IV : Black Flagplayers should be able to discover the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which has been awaited for several years now.
