Assassin’s Creed Shadows delayed – What Ubisoft announced

OR Ubisoft announced the delay of the game Assassin’s Creed Shadows until February 14, 2025. It was originally scheduled for release on November 15, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Mac, and iPad. The main reason for the delay is the need to further improve the game, despite the fact that its basic features are ready.

The executive producer of the series, Marc-Alexis Côté, explained that while the delay will disappoint fans, it is necessary to provide the best possible experience for players, especially because of the lessons learned from the release of Star Wars Outlaws. This game was criticized for overly difficult stealth elements, something Ubisoft is trying to fix. Despite positive reviews, initial sales of Outlaws fell short of expectations, and Ubisoft plans to release it on Steam on November 21 to attract a larger audience.

At Assassin’s Creed ShadowsUbisoft hopes that the extra time will allow the game to fully fulfill its ambitions, offering an experience with two protagonists, the Naoe and Yasukewhich will have different play styles. In addition, Ubisoft will be relaunching its games on Steam from scratch, removing exclusivity on Ubisoft Connect, and scrapping the Season Pass model, offering the first expansion for free to those who pre-order the game.
